Deals FAQ
What is a deal?
A deal tracks a sales opportunity toward closure. Core fields are Expected Deal Value and Expected Closure Date (both required on create), optional Deal Value, Currency, Probability, and an owner. Status is Open, Won, or Lost.
Do I have to put a deal in a pipeline?
No — pipelines are optional. If you do assign one you must pick its initial stage too; the stage then drives the displayed stage name, probability, status, and closed date automatically.
What happens when a deal reaches a Won stage?
Moving to a won stage stamps the closed date, records stage history, and injects the workspace's post-won task templates onto the deal so handover work starts automatically.
Why can't I just edit the Stage field on a pipelined deal?
For deals placed in a configured pipeline, stage changes are intentionally locked to pipelines.moveDeal (dragging the board) so stage history and side effects stay consistent. Only unmapped deals can edit stage fields directly.
What is "Top Opportunity" on the dashboard?
It is your highest-value open deal by expected value. Closed deals (won/lost stages) never surface there, and "own"-scoped users only see their own.
Can deals link to WhatsApp groups?
Yes — a client group and a team group can be linked from the Chats module, which fills the deal's WhatsApp group fields and logs an activity entry on the deal.
