Reports FAQ

What can I build reports over?
Six entities: Leads, Deals, Contacts, Organizations, Vendors, and Tasks. Each has its own allowlisted column set; saved reports store columns, filters, group-by, sort, and chart type.
Who can see my saved report?
You always can. Others see it only if you mark it public — and even then, running it requires read permission on the underlying module (a deals report needs deals read). Updates and deletes are restricted to the creator.
How does running a report respect permissions?
Execution checks your access level per entity: "own" scope restricts results to records you created, and missing module read permission returns "No read permission for <module>" instead of data.
Is there a row limit?
Yes — saved-report runs are capped at 500 rows per execution by design, keeping queries fast and read-only.
Can reports edit my data?
No. Report execution is strictly read-only against an entity→table allowlist; the only writes in this module are saving/updating your own report definitions and their visibility.
