What does the Chats module show?
It mirrors WhatsApp conversations through a bridge service: direct chats and groups sync into the CRM, each thread stores messages with sender/timestamp/direction, and chats can be analyzed by AI for summaries and suggested replies.
How do I bring my WhatsApp conversations in?
Use Sync All on the Chats page. The first run (or any session loss) requires scanning a QR code with your phone to authenticate the bridge; afterwards it pulls your chats and the latest 50 messages per chat.
What do WhatsApp groups have to do with deals?
A group can be linked to a deal as its client group or team group — creating one via Chats writes it straight onto the deal's WhatsApp group fields and logs activity. Linking/unlinking existing groups works from the deal too.
Who can see synced chats?
Chats are gated by the chats module permission; users with access level "own" only see chats they created. Reading threads, syncing, and group creation all require chats read/edit respectively.
Why does sending need a "resolved" recipient?
Composers resolve the chat's stored target (direct phone number or group JID) server-side instead of trusting a deal's phone field — if the chat has no usable recipient, sends are refused with "This chat has an unsupported WhatsApp recipient".
