Outreach FAQ
What is a cold contact?
A cold contact is a prospect sourced for outbound outreach who isn't yet a CRM lead. Each has a lifecycle status (new, researching, qualified, suppressed, converted) and a separate outreach status (not started, queued, contacted, replied, bounced, do_not_contact, suppressed, converted).
What is the trust score?
A 0–100 signal of outreach quality: points come from having an email, a recorded consent basis, an active sequence enrollment, opens and clicks, and replies (+25). Any bounce caps the score at 20.
What makes a cold contact ready for a sequence?
Four checks must pass: it has an email address, a consent basis or legitimate-interest rationale, an owner assigned, and its outreach status is not suppressed/bounced/do-not-contact. The record shows its blockers until all pass.
How do I put cold contacts into an email sequence?
Enroll them from the Outreach module into an active sequence. The sequence must have cold outreach enabled in its delivery policy — sequences default to keeping cold mail off. Enrolling queues the first step and flips outreach status to queued.
Can a cold contact become a regular CRM record?
Yes — convert it to a Contact, Lead, Creator, or Vendor. Conversion needs edit permission on cold_contacts and moves the relationship into the target module.
Does enrolling the same person twice create duplicate emails?
No. Re-enrolling returns the existing enrollment instead of creating another one, so a contact only ever has one enrollment per sequence.
