Symptom: "No read/edit permission for tasks" on actions other modules triggered fine

Cause: Tasks have their own module entry in the permission matrix; having access to deals or campaigns does not grant task access.

Fix: Ask a System Manager to grant the missing action on the tasks module. Creating follow-up tasks from meetings also requires tasks create.

Symptom: A task you need is invisible in lists or detail view

Cause: With access level "own" you only see tasks you created or that are assigned to you; vendor portal users see only their vendor's tasks.

Fix: Open the detail page to see the visibility reason ("Assigned to you", "Created by you", "Team-visible", or "Not visible"). If you should see more, request access level "all".

Symptom: Completing a task did not move the linked deal

Cause: Automatic stage changes only run when the task has triggers_deal_stage_change enabled with a target_deal_stage set; otherwise completion is just a status update.

Fix: Edit the task and enable the trigger plus target stage, then complete it. Note the deal move happens when the task transitions to Done.

Symptom: Deal won't close because of "blocking progress" tasks

Cause: Any non-Done task on the deal flagged blocks_deal_progress blocks the Won transition by design.

Fix: Mark those specific tasks Done (or remove the blocker flag if they are genuinely optional) and retry closing the deal.

Symptom: Bulk update rejects the patch with "Choose a field to update"

Cause: Task bulk operations support only status, priority, and assignee; an empty selection is invalid.

Fix: Choose one of those fields in the bulk toolbar before applying.
